I don't know what the hell is wrong with me lately, but I CANNOT sleep.  In fact, I have barely been tired the last few days.  Here it is 4:15 AM and I am wide awake. 

What the hell have I been up to?  Well, I knocked out some homework which is a good thing.  I hammered out a couple articles on the helpfromageek website.  That also rocks.  I have been chatting with Renee-who also is up and can't sleep.  Maybe this is contagious...

I think that I might marathon The Office for a bit in the hopes that I get tired.  I know what will happen...I will get sleepy at about 630 AM when I should be waking up!  I am sure of it!

Sleep!  Where are you?  Ugh!

Any sane person knows that the Mac vs. PC ads are filled with misinformation, half-truths (half-lies?), and they contain only a small smattering of truth, but the fact that they have now spread their lies to the Apple 3G Iphone disgusts me!  While I will happily debate the misinformation in the Mac vs PC ads with anyone (I really hate Apple and this is my main reason why...) but I think that eventually someone has to take a stand against thier misleading (at best) ads for the new Iphone.

Let me get this out of the way:  the Iphone is a great smartphone.  I think that it is currently one of the top two best smartphones out there.  I think that the Raphael will kick its ass...but that is another matter altogether

So what has me so riled?  Apple concludes its commercial with the line that it costs half as much.  Why does this get me so upset you wonder?  The iphone is available for $199 vs. the originals $399 right?  It sure is, but this is TYPICAL Apple marketing.  They lie to you (a half-truth is STILL a lie!) by failing to mention that they are taking a much more standard approach to the cellphone business.  They are subsidizing the phone, while jacking up the rates for the plans.  Imagine that I am the only car dealership around and I sell the only tires in the area.  I offer to sell you the newest model of the exact car that you are driving for $5000.  Shocked, you jump onboard without realizing that every month I will be charging you $1000 for tires.  You signed a contract for 2 years, so you are stuck paying.  Does your car still cost half as much?  Is it still a crazy deal?

I didn't think so.  (I know that is the WORST analogy ever, but it is 4AM, I have a headache from hell, and I can't sleep).  The bottom line is that the new iphone costs AT A MINIMUM $160 more than the original.  Apple once again misleads the nation and they get away with it.  When will the d-bag media enthusiasts hold them accountable?  Will they ever stop drinking the Apple kool-aid?  Where is the outrage America?  WTF?

ATTN Macheads:  This isn't a slam on the phone itself.  It is a great piece of hardware as most Mac hardware is.  The point of this is the misleading marketing that outright LIES to the public. 

I hate this man.

Well, it certainly feels that way, but now that I check the clock, it might not have been as productive as I thought.  I woke up at 9 AM (I was up till 430, so chill) and did laundry, and general housecleaning chores.  Usually I spend all day Sunday doing homework.  I still had that as my main plan, but for some reason I felt like I was living in squalor and I had to clean!  I am a bit of a clean freak, but as of late, I don't clean like I used to.  I used to clean every day, but now I only do it on my day off.

I was able to get my homework done by 6 PM today however!  That pretty much rocks!  Hard!  Now I have the night to find something to do!  I have no idea what however...in the mean time:

How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?

I don't live very far from work.  I do however, live a long ways from school.  I have to drive 124 miles ONE WAY each day to class.  I spend just over $250 a week in gas.  It isn't pretty that is for sure!

I should be UBER excited today! The Dark Knight opens up. Salma Hayek is single again:

But I am not bouncing off the wall like I should today.  Instead, I am about 3 hours behind schedule buried in work!

Still, I am sure that the new Batman movie will alleviate any sort of stress or bad feelings that I have!  I can't wait!  I think that is only making work harder...lol. Plus its Friday!

As I watched Microsoft's E3 conference presentation (Geek-confirmed) I was excited by all of the really cool things that you will soon be able to do with your Xbox 360:

• The party system lets you share photos, videos, and music with 8 of your friends.  You can also take these people directly into a game, or you can watch a Netflix video together!
• So...yeah...NETFLIX!!!!!!!!!!
• There were some really cool game announcements that got me excited.  I love the idea of Xbox LIVE primetime!  Playing gameshows with other users on a regular basis should be awesome!  Playing Lips should be awesome as well.  A karoake game that lets you plug in your Zune (or iPod) and use your own music? Ummm...yeah, that is spelled A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

That last bit made me really excited, but it also made me realize that I have no friends.  Hear me out.  I have friends at work, but I don't have any friends that I can do anything with.  I literally go to work, go to school, and come home and do the same things every day.  Every day. 

What this made me realize was that I need to get out more.  I am excited for a new area to live in that gives me the opportunity to do something that doesn't involve going to the movies or going to the store.

Summer Road Trip '08

Although we typically post on Team Vox to let you know about things that are going on with Vox (to, uh, state the obvious), once in a while, we like to let you know about other cool things that are happening around the blogosphere. I have been having a pretty crappy last few days.  I should be having a great time as I am off from work for 4 days in a row!...but that isn't the case.

School is costing me an arm and a leg.  I am paying about $160 a week in gas just to go to classes, on top of the tuition, on top of the books, etc.

I still can't get rid of my roommate who seems to think that paying bills is optional.  He makes progress towards getting his crap outta here, yet he doesn't at the same time.  The authorities are of no help...

I had an unexpected visitor the other night.  It was someone whom I thought about alot and missed.  Yet visiting with that person brought up some of the worst memories I have.  It kind of set the tone for me for awhile I think...

I have just been asked to babysit a baby as well!  I don't have a kid, and I have never babysat a baby before.  I love kids, but if I had my way, they wouldn't be born until they are like 5!  lol  The only other time that I babysat a little kid was when I was in high school.  I ended up calling my girlfriend at the time to come help. -Flaky I know...I can't imagine this going too well.

I also have a million things to do today!  I have homework (like always), articles and code to write for Help from a Geek, and I wanted to get my contact forms working on Jerryv.net and focusphotostudio.com.  I have alot of laundry and general cleaning to do as well.  I wanted to get that all done and reward myself by going to a movie, but that isn't going to happen.  I will be babysitting from 230 to midnight!
